Astrology is a way of learning about who you are, who you might be, and how you act. It uses your birthday, time of birth, and year of birth to determine which astrological sign you are.
There are twelve signs, each of which have a different color, planet, part of the body it rules, element, and gemstone, along with certain qualities, or personality traits. You can click here to skip straight to the signs and the descriptions.
The most commonly known form of astrology is the sun sign. This sign is determined by your date of birth. For example, if you were born on October 19, you would be a Libra, while someone born on January 7 would be a Capricorn. Most people know this and look in newspapers or online to look at their horoscopes.
Next is the moon sign. The moon sign is simply whichever sign the moon was in at your birth. I will add a table for you to figure yours out later. And last is the rising sign or ascendent. The ascendent is determined by your time of birth.
All three of these, and more which I'll list later, affect who you are and how you act. Not everyone of a certain sign will act the same way or have characteristics of every trait. And some might not express those qualities for their sign. And one thing to remember is that all three, the sun, moon, and ascendent, affect who you are, not one or the other.
